What are compatible
cartridges?
Compatible cartridges are
non-OEM new cartridges - not
recycled. Compatible cartridges
are manufactured by a third
party factory to the OEM
(Original Equipment Manufacture)
specifications. Each printer
cartridge is carefully
researched, manufactured and
tested. New compatible
cartridges are added on a
regular basis.

How easy are they to
install?
Each cartridge is installed
the same way that you would
install the original OEM
cartridge. They are individually
wrapped in foil and have the
yellow tab on top (which you
remove when installing the
cartridge - just like the
original OEM cartridge.) We
recommend that you use the head
cleaning or nozzle cleaning
utility that comes with your
printer to clean the printer
heads (you should do this EVERY
time you replace any cartridge -
OEM or Compatible). Go to
Control Panel - Printers -
Properties - Utility.

Why should I buy a compatible
cartridge?
Why Not?? The main reason for
using compatibles is to save
money, lots of it!
Back

How much money will I save by
buying a compatible cartridge?
Typically buying a compatible
cartridge saves you about 50-75%
over the cost of a new OEM
cartridge. This usually amounts
to $15-$30 every time you use
our product. Check out the
savings for your printer. Make
sure to explore different
quantities to find the price
break that suites you best.
Notice the unit costs decreasing
on quantity orders!

How can you sell them so
cheap?
Our cartridges come straight
from the factory - therefore -
NO MIDDLE MAN to raise the
price!! We also operate on the
principle of low price with high
volume, similar to Walmart.

How long will they last on
the shelf?
Because we sell so many
cartridges each month, we
receive monthly shipments from
our factory. Therefore our
cartridges are fresh and have a
tested shelf life of at least 20
months.

product?
We guarantee everything we sell
100%. We will gladly refund your
money if you are unsatisfied in
anyway for any reason. There is
absolutely no risk to you.

Will I get the same quality
printing with a compatible
cartridge?
We guarantee you will get the
same quality printing. Many of
our best customers are graphic
designers and photographers who
demand the highest quality
printing and the strictest color
matching.

Do you have cartridges for my
printer?
We carry compatible cartridges
for most popular brands of
printers. If you don't see your
printer listed, give us a call
and we will let you know if we
have it in stock. If your
printer is a new model and we
don't carry it yet, check back
with us by e-mail or this web
site as new compatibles are
added on a regular basis.

Will using a compatible
cartridge void my warrantee?
Major printer manufacturers sell
printers at or below cost. They
make their profits from selling
the cartridges. Formerly, once
you bought your expensive new
printer you had no choice but to
buy one of their cartridges
after yours ran dry. By using
compatibles you are cutting into
their primary source of profit.
Because of this, they will
threaten to void your warrantee
if you use compatible
cartridges. They are simply
trying to protect their own
interests anyway they can. It is
however strictly ILLEGAL for
them to do so. They CANNOT VOID
YOUR WARRANTEE simply for using
compatible cartridges. There is
no reason that you should not
use compatible cartridges. They
work and will save YOU money.
We've sold hundreds of thousands
of cartridges and never had an
incident where a customer's
warranty was "voided" from using
our products.

I can't find the ink
cartridge part number on your
website. What should I do?
If you cannot find it, it is
highly likely that we don't
carry it at this time. Please
call us to help you identify the
proper cartridge that goes with
your printer.
Back

Would the use of refill ink
or compatible cartridge void my
printer's warranty?
No. The manufacturer of the
printer you are using cannot
void the warranty on your
printer because you use a
cartridge or refill kit
manufactured by someone other
than the printer manufacturer.
This prohibition includes the
use of compatible cartridges,
continuous feeding mechanisms,
refill kits, ink, etc.

What does OEM mean? What is
OEM cartridge?
OEM stands for Original
Equipment Manufacturer. OEMs ,
such as Brother, Canon, Epson,
Lexmark, HP, are the companies
that manufacture your printers.
OEM cartridges are cartridges
that are branded under your
OEM's brand.

What does remanufactured
cartridge mean?
Recycled cartridges that are
disassembled and have their worn
parts replaced are called
remanufactured cartridges.
The current remanufacturing
process requires cartridges to
be disassembled and inspected to
determine any problem areas.
Worn components are replaced
with new parts, all sections are
cleaned, and a fresh supply of
toner or inkjet is added before
the cartridge is resealed.
High-quality remanufactured
cartridges now undergo a process
that makes them equivalent in
performance, print quality and
page yield to new models, and
they meet all original equipment
manufacturer (OEM) standards and
specifications. Satisfaction is
guaranteed on every
remanufactured toner cartridge.

What does compatible
cartridge mean?
Compatible cartridges
(replacements) are manufactured
by third parties (other than
OEMs) and fully compatible with
OEMs. The compatible cartridges
carried by Postal Ink are brand
new and as good as OEMs.
Compatible cartridges are also
refillable afterwards, just like
OEMs.

How many times can I refill
an inkjet cartridge?
An ink cartridge can be refilled
between 2 to 4 times. The wide
variation depends on a number of
factors, such as use of inkjet
cartridge (not letting the
cartridge run out of ink before
refilling), printer paper used
(low quality papers causes the
electric contacts on the print
head to wear out), how long the
inkjet cartridge has been left
out and not used (prolonged
non-use causes the ink inside
the cartridge to dry-out and
plug the print head).

What is the shelf life of
your products?
Our cartridge's shelf life is as
the same as the Original
Equipment Manufacturer, usually
12-24 months for the OEM and
remanufactured cartridges and
about 24-36 months for the
generic cartridge.

How do I install a new
cartridge I bought from you?
Always follow the printer
manufacturer's guidelines for
installing new cartridges. Our
cartridges are made to follow
the specifications of the
original equipment manufacturer,
so they will install exactly the
same way.
Back
to top.
When I install your
cartridge, there is a Pop-up
window which says “This is not
OEM cartridge…”, what can I do?
Please ignore that message and
continue to install. You may
also get a message that the ink
level indicator will not be
available, you can still
continue to use the cartridge.
Remember to stop printing when
you notice the ink is not
printing on the paper, this will
be your indicator that the ink
level is low. NEVER continue to
print after the cartridge is
without ink, this will destroy
the ink cartridge.
Back
to top.
I installed your ink
cartridge, but my printer does
not recognize it. What should I
do?
First, please never touch the
gold circuit board on the
cartridge. Check if your inkjet
cartridge has been installed
correctly and the gold circuit
board makes firm contact with
your printer. You may need to
uninstall and reinstall it. If
that cannot fix your problem,
please contact our customer
service Rep. Remember to remove
the blue tape that goes over the
nozzle for the black cartridges.
Back
to top.
After I have used your
cartridges for a while, the
print quality is not as good as
before, what can I do?
Please use cleaning cartridge to
clean the print head. It will
improve the print quality. Read
the printer owner manual and
perform a cleaning cycle to help
clean the printer nozzle.

What is the main difference
between standard Dye-based ink
and Pigmented ink?
Water Resistance - The dye in
the dye-based ink dissolves in
water like sugar or salt does in
water -- completely. Pigment
does not dissolve completely. It
is more like a flour and water
mixture.
Because of this, dye-based inks
flow better and have been the
standard in inkjet printers. But
the dye will re-dissolve and the
ink will flow across the paper
if drops of water make contact
with the paper.
Pigmented ink particles tend to
settle into the tiny fibers that
make up the paper. As the ink
dries, the pigment particles get
stuck in the fibers. Thus, the
pigmented inks are more water
resistant than the dye-based
inks. Only about 5 to 10 percent
of the ink will re-flow if the
paper comes in contact with
water.
